The RBQ treats electronic messages with the same confidentiality measures as mail received via the Post Office.
Email transmissions are not fully secure. Therefore, the RBQ does not recommend disclosing personal information, such as your social insurance number or credit card numbers, by email. For the same reason, the RBQ will not respond to questions by email if the response requires the transmission of confidential information.
The Régie du bâtiment applies the Act respecting access to documents held by public bodies and the protection of personal information. There, no personal information is collected without the visitor's consent.
Under sections 64 and 65 of this Act, if the RBQ requires a person's personal information, it must ensure the necessity of collecting this information, identify itself and provide the website visitor with the following information:
