For New Residential Buildings
The indemnity amounts that you could be entitled to depend on the date of purchase and the starting date of the work on your new house or condo.
To determine the amount of your indemnities, you must answer these 2 questions:
If you answered no to these two questions, your building is registered with the administrator Garantie de construction résidentielle (GCR). The indemnity amounts are those indicated on the page Indemnities provided for contracts signed and work begun in 2015.
If you answered yes to at least one of these two questions, your building is registered with the administrator La Garantie Abritat inc. or Qualité Habitation. The indemnity amounts are those indicated on the page Indemnities provided for contracts signed and work begun in 2014.
The indemnity amounts and the administrators vary due to an overhaul of the Regulation respecting the guarantee plan for new residential buildings, which has been in force since January 1, 2015.
